I first became involved in the arts in the early 1980s. Those first encounters with the arts led me down the path of constant exploration and curiosity about the world. I have composed avant garde music for typewriters, sculpted screaming heads out of wood, painted cyphers and figures with encaustics, burned etchings into zinc, filmed honey bees and trains, and photographed everything from fictional characters to discarded g-string underwear. Never satisfied with just one medium, I view artistic media as merely tools in the service of creation.
I am fond of a quotation attributed to
the sculptor Constantin Bancussi:
Create like a god,
Rule like a king,
Work like a slave.
